A comprehensive content marketing strategy will include many different kinds of content to appeal to a wide range of users. Some might be most attracted by quick snippets on social media, but at the other of the spectrum, certain consumers might want the depth of info that comes from ebooks. Then there are blogs, white papers, newsletters, and more…

Marketing.AI has systems in place to help you easily plan, sort, and organize the many different types of content you may need. With the aid of our content calendar and supporting tools, you can plan out multiple streams of content over many months. The content calendar utilizes a user-friendly drag and drop interface, with simple options to help you sort through different content types. For instance, you can colour code each type of content, making it easy to see what’s planned at a glance. Green for blogs, blue for Tweets, purple for Facebook, etc.

The text editor can automatically adapt itself to better support certain types of content, like social media posts. For example, if you assign a Twitter post, the editor will set itself a limit of 140 characters. This makes it that much easier for your writers to create appropriate content.

If you need more help organizing your different content types, you can filter your calendar view using the options on the left side. This makes it easier to focus on specific content types.

Another handy aid is the Composition Goals tool under the strategy tab. This allows you to establish what proportions of content you wish to create. For instance, you might want 40% of your content to be social media posts, 30% to be blogs, 20% to be newsletters, and 10% to be ebooks. You can keep referring back to this over time to make sure you’re following your strategy.

If you want to check that you’re following your desired percentages for each type of content, you can check that from the Workflow tab. Select the Calendar drop down menu near the top and click Composition Overview. This will you tell you what the percentages of different content types on your calendar are. If you find it doesn’t match up with your ideal percentages, you can then edit the entries on your calendar accordingly.

You can also control what types of content you wish to create. Select the Workflow option under the Settings tab to set what sorts of content can be added to the calendar. If you don’t wish to include ebooks in your marketing strategy, you can remove them as an option.

Conversely, you can add new content types if you require something not covered by our default options. To do so, go to Upgrade and send us an email detailing the new content type you wish added. Content marketing can be a complicated business, but with the right tools, you can keep everything organized and easy to process.
